About the UberSTAR Internship Program
Uber is offering an exciting opportunity for first or second-year students at Texas A&M University to join our UberSTAR Internship Program. Program Overview
The UberSTAR Internship is a paid program that connects students interested in working in tech with full-time internships at Uber. Participants will gain real-world skills, experiences, and professional networks necessary for success in the tech industry.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with your manager and mentor to drive exciting, ambiguous, and previously unsolved projects from start to finish.
- Design, develop, and test software applications using Uber's technology stack.
- Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, development, or projects to resolve technical issues.
- Build software components to be integrated into a fully functional software system.
- Demonstrate motivation and independence in owning projects and pushing them forward.
Basic Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field at Texas A&M University.
- Must have completed an introductory Computer Science course.
- Must be a first or second-year student at the time of application. Students transferring from a community college into a four-year program at Texas A&M University are eligible to apply.
- Basic programming experience in one or more application or systems languages (e.g., Go, Python, Ruby, Java, C/C++, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven software engineering experience through previous internships, work experience, coding competitions, and/or publications.
- Experience building tools/infrastructure.
- A desire to be part of a team that delivers impactful results every day.
- A dedication to writing understandable, maintainable, and reusable software.
- A strong sense of accountability for your work.
- Willingness to learn new languages and methodologies.
Location
This internship is based in Seattle, WA, USA.
Compensation
The base hourly rate for this role is $46.00 per hour. Interns will also be eligible for various benefits.
