Job Overview
Uber is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Production Engineering team in Amsterdam. This role is pivotal in ensuring Uber's services run reliably and can scale to meet our significant needs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will blend software and systems engineering capabilities to maintain the highest levels of availability across Uber's tech platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders: Work closely with various teams to understand their services and architect solutions to enhance reliability.
- Build and Maintain Tools: Develop tooling and services that aid in reliability across Uber's platforms.
- Troubleshoot and Manage Incidents: Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting and managing incidents, ensuring best practices are adopted.
- Strategic Planning: Identify efficiencies and develop solutions to improve production platforms and processes.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience coding with Go, Java, C++, or Python.
- 5+ years of experience in building, maintaining, and debugging production services/platforms.
- 3+ years of experience in implementing complex software architectures with multiple dependencies.
- Experience in leading technical projects and collaborating with technical stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Proven experience in shipping high-quality product features on schedule.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers and providing guidance during postmortems.
