The Role

As a Software Engineering Intern at Arity, you will be an integral part of a product team, practicing and championing the Scrum methodology in a cloud environment with a product mindset. You will participate in iteration planning meetings, ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chore in the team's backlog. You will also participate in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups, as well as retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in executing the strategy, keeping the customer needs and wants in mind.
• Collaborate within the team in designing systems and apps.
• Practice daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building products.
• Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.
• Provide support for software products in user environments.
• Work with geographically dispersed teams across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

• Target Start Date: May/June 2025
• Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
• Working towards a Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, including a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of computer science concepts and object-oriented design principles.
• Knowledge of developing software in different programming languages and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages.
• Knowledge and experience with approaches and tools for automated testing and monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala, or Python.
• Experience with the Spring framework with Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React or AngularJS.
• Backend development, design, and implementation; database (relational like Postgres, NoSQL like Cassandra, caching), messaging, and big data development, implementation, and optimization.
• Experience and knowledge in web and API security including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML.
• Experience in testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Protractor, Cucumber, and other similar technologies.
• Experience with packaging/build tools like Gradle, Maven, NPM, Artifactory, Jenkins, Concourse, etc.
• Experience with Amazon Web Service components like Lambdas, Athena, S3, EMR, Quicksight, Step functions.
