Join Zilliz as an Engineering Manager, Database Systems
Zilliz, a leading vector database company for enterprise-grade AI, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Database Systems team. This role is pivotal in driving the development of next-generation database technologies that empower organizations to create AI applications with ease.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Hire, manage, and mentor teams of software engineers. Execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with company goals.
- System Development: Develop distributed database systems using Zilliz's innovative data science platforms. Design and write core architecture code, providing creative solutions to technical challenges.
- Product Ownership: Take ownership of product performance and stability. Research emerging technologies to optimize distributed platforms.
- Community Engagement: Manage the Milvus open-source community and expand Zilliz's global reach.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in engineering leadership, including hiring, mentoring, and managing performance. 5+ years in developing database or AI/ML systems.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, low-level optimizations, search algorithms, or storage systems. Experience with large-scale cloud-native systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or related fields.
- Preferred Experience: Active user or contributor to infrastructure software like Snowflake, CockroachDB, Oracle RDBMS, Google BigQuery, and others.
