NVIDIA is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our Robotics Team. For over two decades, NVIDIA has been at the forefront of visual computing, pioneering the art and science of computer graphics. Our invention of the GPU has expanded the field to include video games, movie production, research, and autonomous machines. Now, we are building a robotics platform to develop the next generation of intelligent robots.

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for scaling the compute of our AI platform to enable industrial-grade robotics solutions. You will lead the design of compute infrastructure to run AI workflows on the platform and automate backend infrastructure management and deployment. You will work closely with dependent teams to drive projects and manage issues during integration, testing, deployment, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Scale the compute of the AI platform for industrial-grade robotics solutions.
• Lead the design of compute infrastructure for AI workflows.
• Automate backend infrastructure management and deployment.
• Collaborate with dependent teams to drive projects.
• Manage issues during integration, testing, deployment, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of work experience, with at least 2+ years on cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD systems.
• Excellent Python programming skills and proficiency in other scripting languages.
• Strong data skills and software design capabilities.
• Ability to learn quickly and debug complex system issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience maintaining reliability for data center scale infrastructure.
• Technical ownership in a cross-organizational, multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience leading a software project involving 4 or more engineers.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $148,000 - $276,000 per year, depending on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
