Senior Frontend Software Engineer (React, Angular, Vue)

About The Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at Uber Freight, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable frontend applications to enhance Uber Freight’s Transportation Management Financial system. You will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, User Experience Researchers, and Data Scientists to deliver algorithmic solutions to our users. You will have access to the tools that have helped Uber grow into a global company, as well as new and emerging technologies from our Compute, Platform, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software that is readable, maintainable, and efficient across multiple modules and applications.
• Adhere to safe coding practices from security, dependency, and risk mitigation perspectives.
• Identify the impacts on other modules and applications of the systems.
• Assist project leadership in creating estimations of work for projects, estimating the scope, and determining the project software development schedule.
• Work with version control complexities including multiple concurrent branches and multi-branch merges.
• Perform unit and integration testing in a deployment environment to verify the delivered implementation meets the given requirements.
• Identify gaps in testing methodology and suggest alternative solutions or frameworks.
• Provide support for implementations to Business Analysts and Technical Support in resolving production issues and providing key contributions in resolution.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3 or more years of frontend development experience.
• Strong problem-solving and coding skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using JavaScript and web frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms and the ability to use them practically when implementing solutions.
• Experience shipping high-quality product features on schedule.
• Experience developing web applications with a good understanding of JavaScript.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL.
• Experience with Java or Go.
• Proven experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Knowledge of the logistics and freight industry is a bonus.
