Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer at HyreCar, you will be instrumental in advancing our carsharing marketplace. This role involves working on both the frontend and backend, contributing to the entire ecosystem including the marketplace, drivers, owners, and backoffice systems. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and touch all aspects of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Build New Features: Lead the development of new features from conception through to release, including testing, documentation, and maintenance.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices.
• Architectural Development: Contribute to the architectural vision of the team, focusing on building a decoupled architecture and creating user-friendly abstractions.
• Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to share knowledge and ensure code quality.
• Technical Expertise: Provide insights for estimating and prioritizing features.
• Team Collaboration: Engage in team rituals to refine processes and manage day-to-day requests.

• Backend: Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL
• Infrastructure: AWS Lambda, Terraform, ECS, SQS, SNS, Datadog
• Database: MongoDB, PostgreSQL
• Frontend: TypeScript, React

Who You'll Work With

You will collaborate with product managers, developers, and cross-functional teams. You will work closely with Amit, the VP of Engineering at HyreCar, and Michael, the Global VP of Engineering at Getaround, as well as other team members across different regions, including Europe.

What You'll Bring

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer and Architect.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, TypeScript, and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS and Google Cloud.
• Design Patterns: Strong understanding of software design patterns and architecture principles.
• Communication: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure with strong communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Awesomeness

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools like Terraform, including CI/CD pipelines.

Work Environment

This is a remote position, but you must be available to work during Pacific time zone hours, with some overlap with our Paris office. The typical work environment includes desktop computing in a home office or other remote workspace.
