Job Overview
Aster is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong background in healthcare technology. This role is pivotal in designing and building applications that improve maternal health outcomes. You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers, designers, and clinicians, working closely with the CEO and CPO to define technical requirements and priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a small cross-functional team.
- Collaborate with the CEO & CPO to define technical requirements and priorities.
Full Stack Development
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of healthcare technology services and applications.
- Engage in both front-end and back-end development.
Mobile Development
- Experience in creating cross-platform mobile applications is a plus.
Healthcare Domain Expertise
- Utilize knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance to ensure HIPAA-compliant applications.
Architecture and Scalability
- Design and implement scalable, resilient, high-performance architecture for healthcare applications.
- Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
Quality Assurance
- Implement best testing practices, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain comprehensive code, architecture, and process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and data protection laws.
Tech Stack
- Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript
- Frameworks: React
- Cloud Services: AWS CDK, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL
Bonus Skills
- Experience with React Native or Flutter, Go or Rust, DynamoDB, WebRTC, Gen AI, LLMs, Local First Development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a full-stack engineer with a strong background in healthcare technology applications.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and building scalable and secure applications.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, such as HIPAA, is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
