Overview
This role is the first engineering hire in a funded, growing startup building an AI adoption and product management platform. AlignAI is seeking a hands-on leader to build the product and the team. Today, the product utilizes Next.JS (React) and Vercel for hosting. Going forward, we will work with machine learning, including generative AI, to help clients accelerate change management around AI.

Key Responsibilities
- Guide architecture decisions: Identify and implement tools and systems to augment the product architecture and SDLC tooling and meet other business needs.
- Develop functionality: Use a hands-on keyboard to implement functionality, including the user interface, back-end/API, and integrations.
- Manage and implement functionality: Meet enterprise security and integration features for an enterprise B2B SAAS platform.
- Mentor and guide the growth of the engineering team.
- Steward the code base: Review code from the engineering team to ensure quality and enforce code standards.
- Collaborate with product and design: Prioritize functionality, including conducting feasibility and level of effort analysis.
- Stay curious about new technology: Interested in staying up-to-date, specifically conversational and generative AI.
Must-Have
- Experience working in a startup environment and comfortable with ambiguity.
- At least 7 years of front-end and back-end (full-stack) web app development experience.
- Experience building enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) products.
- Experience using NextJS and React.
- Experience integrating enterprise security features into products (e.g., SAML).
- Experience implementing conversational and generative AI functionality.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
- Experience leading and managing engineering teams (at least being a team lead).
- Passion about machine learning, analytics, and/or education.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Puppeteer, etc.).
- Experience with scrum software development.
- Experience with Vercel and SupaBase hosting.
- Experience working in startups.
