About the Role
As a Founding Applied AI Engineer at Argon AI, you will play a pivotal role in leading our AI initiatives. Your primary focus will be on developing domain-specific AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using extensive pharmaceutical datasets. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in AI and machine learning who are passionate about building the next generation of agentic pharma systems.
Key Responsibilities
- AI Development: Lead the development of AI systems tailored to the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on domain-specific applications.
- Research and Product Balance: Operate at the cutting edge of applied AI, staying updated with the latest research on prompting techniques, model capabilities, and domain-specific fine-tuning.
- Prompt Engineering: Master the art of prompt engineering and agentic workflows to optimize model performance, including tone, format, and tool use.
- Dataset Creation: Collaborate with the team to create proprietary datasets for continued pre-training, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and in-context learning (ICL).
- Fine-Tuning Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for domain-specific fine-tuning and model training to achieve state-of-the-art performance on pharmaceutical benchmarks.
- Benchmarking: Design and execute the first-ever pharma domain-specific benchmarks to evaluate model performance on specific operational tasks.

Compensation
- Salary: $170,000 - $250,000 per year
- Equity: Generous equity grants
