Internship – Software Engineering (Web) (Summer 2025)
Job Summary
Join Universal Orlando Resort as a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This role involves working with delivery teams to define, develop, test, and analyze guest-facing websites and applications. You will collaborate with front-end developers, service developers, project managers, product owners, and business partners to deliver tasks throughout the production life cycle. Gain exposure to testing and build/deployment processes for releasing products to production.
Major Responsibilities
- Work as part of a scrum team to create code that directly contributes to project deliverables.
- Collaborate with scrum master, product owner, developers, and architecture team members to understand scope management and delivery processes.
- Act as a liaison with technical staff to assist in resolving issues found during testing and validation.
- Actively share ideas, accomplishments, and blockers with delivery teams and leadership.
- Attend meetings related to project deliverables and provide status updates.
- Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Education
- Currently pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution with a class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA required.
- Preferred majors: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with GIT, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SASS, ES6+, and/or TypeScript.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Unit Testing, Linting, and Code Coverage.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail and superior written & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
Additional Information
- This internship will be a hybrid experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, with a graduation date later than August 2025.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing; interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
