Software Engineering Intern

Overview

Join Intuit’s Core Services and Experiences Team as a Software Engineering Intern focusing on modern web application design and development. This internship is designed for students who are currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program and will return to school after the summer internship in 2025, with a graduation date of Winter 2025 or later.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:

• Work on industry-leading authentication methods, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) via biometric and password-less methods, to enhance user experience while ensuring security.
• Contribute to the development of a world-class identity verification solution to support Intuit's mission of powering prosperity globally.
• Design and develop web applications, prototypes, or proofs of concept.
• Ensure code coverage using the latest UI testing frameworks and patterns.
• Resolve defects and bugs during various stages of the software development lifecycle, including QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various Intuit teams, including product management and different business units, to drive results.

What You'll Bring

Must Have:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming languages.
• Knowledge of front-end web design and modern JavaScript features such as ES6, ES7, and ES8.
• Strong design sense with the ability to translate wireframes, mockups, and visual design assets into engaging and user-friendly web experiences using Photoshop, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
• Understanding of Test-Driven Development with experience in creating JavaScript-based test coverage.
• Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies.
• A "self-starter" attitude with the ability to make decisions independently.
• A helpful, can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of problems.
• Strong desire to learn and grow.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a history of superb delivery against assigned tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Have:

• Experience building modular JavaScript single-page applications with React, Redux, Webpack, Jest, and Babel.
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud computing services.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS.
• Ability to translate technical user requirements into world-class visual designs.

How You Will Lead

• Design and develop web apps, prototypes, or proofs of concepts.
