Your Mission

Join Activision Publishing’s Central Technology (CT) organization as a Principal AI/ML Engineer. This role is pivotal in developing the next generation of tools that empower Activision content creators to build expansive worlds for games like Call of Duty and Warzone. You will focus on creating systems and workflows that assist with model placement, level layout, scene annotation, and other creative and technical decisions necessary to bring large and complex environments to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze substantial amounts of existing data from previously built worlds and games.
• Identify areas suitable for machine learning applications and implement solutions.
• Develop user-friendly solutions for content creation teams.
• Stay updated with current developments in the field and integrate academic solutions into production environments.
• Build and lead a small team to support the application of machine learning in content creation.

Year One Success

• Transform day-to-day workflows for content creators by building systems that allow more flexible and efficient content authoring.
• Develop a framework for easier development and deployment of solutions to new problem areas.

Experience and Skills

• A technical background in computer science or a related field, preferably in gaming or academia.
• Experience with libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a large, constantly evolving code base.
• Demonstrated history of competence and success in machine learning and similar systems.

Salary

The standard base pay range for this role in the U.S. is $154,100 - $285,084 annually. Compensation is negotiable based on experience, performance, and work location.
