Job Description
As a Senior Developer Relations Engineer at Square, you will be instrumental in fostering the Square Developer community. Your role involves:
- Building and growing the Square Developer community.
- Writing and improving quality technical content that enables developers to understand and build on the platform.
- Representing Square in public forums, external videos, and events for developers building on Square's ecommerce platform.
- Working cross-functionally with product teams and engineering groups to design and deliver Square’s global developer platform.
- Developing example applications that demonstrate the use of our platforms and SDKs.
- Being an internal advocate for the community and communicating their needs.
- Creating new initiatives to build engagement with the developer community (e.g., hackathons, contests).
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- A passion for advocating for a remarkable developer experience.
- Experience in building and engaging communities.
- A track record of delivering high-quality technical content that engages developers.
- Proficiency in modern scripting languages (Ruby, Python, PHP) and compiled/typed languages (Java, .NET/C#, C/C++).
- Familiarity with RESTful web services and a willingness to dive into new technologies.
