Job Description
As a Staff Software Engineer in the Backend team at Square, you will be part of the Risk Platform Foundations team. Your role involves maintaining and upgrading key services essential for the Square ecosystem's safety and developing the next generation Risk platform to ensure scalability with Square’s growth. You will also participate in strategic roadmapping and act as a technical mentor.
Responsibilities
- Build the core technical infrastructure to support Risk needs across Square.
- Collaborate with partner teams to develop new features and services.
- Design and implement systems that manage sensitive customer data with high standards for security and compliance.
- Develop tools that enhance partner experiences.
- Design fault-tolerant systems to ensure reliability and safety.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java or a similar language.
- Experience with large-scale strategic initiatives.
- Strong software engineering skills and computer science fundamentals.
- Experience in risk or financial systems is a plus.
