Senior Full Stack Engineer

About The Role

Location: Remote (US hours)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-hosted web applications. This role involves working on both frontend and backend components, making technology recommendations, and ensuring quality and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to build high-quality software products that deliver value to small business owners and our broker partner customers supporting them.

This is a unique opportunity to improve the ways in which insurance brokers meet the specific needs of their small businesses clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, and React and deployed on AWS.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new capabilities.
• Implement mobile responsive user interfaces and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
• Ensure the scalability and performance of applications.
• Develop and maintain server-side logic, APIs, and databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Provide guidance, leadership, and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
• Be an intermediary between product and other team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

About You

• You received a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
• You have at least 6 years of experience in full stack development.
• You bring expertise working in AWS and with JavaScript, Node.js, React, and TypeScript.
• You are passionate about building elegant and intuitive systems that simplify complex workflows.
• You possess a strong understanding of various architectures and their tradeoffs.
• You have knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• You are a creative and pragmatic problem-solver with an attention to detail.
• You are an excellent communicator and collaborator.
• You have experience leading initiatives, prioritizing and sequencing work, making critical decisions, and filling in for product when necessary.
• You believe in taking a continuous, incremental, and experimental approach.
• You enjoy working at a start-up and/or know how to be successful in an evolving environment.
