About the Role
Join Stripe as a Senior Software Engineer in the Machine Learning Infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports machine learning operations across Stripe's diverse business verticals. You will collaborate with machine learning engineers, data scientists, and platform infrastructure teams to enhance ML-Ops velocity and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Development: Design and build scalable, reliable infrastructure for machine learning model training and serving.
- Service Creation: Develop services and libraries that facilitate seamless transitions from experimentation to production for ML engineers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product teams and ML engineers to create user-friendly infrastructure for production ML models.
- Performance Optimization: Focus on optimizing the end-to-end performance of distributed systems.
Who You Are
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in building software applications within large-scale distributed systems. You should be passionate about solving business problems and making a significant impact. A solid engineering background with experience in infrastructure and distributed systems is essential. While you will primarily work with Python and Java, we value general engineering skills over specific language expertise.
Minimum Requirements
- Over five years of experience in software development, particularly in large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong engineering background with a focus on infrastructure and distributed systems.
- Experience with high availability and low latency systems.
- Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over two years of experience in supporting machine learning infrastructure.
- Experience in training and deploying machine learning models to production.
Work Environment
This position is available for remote work, with the option to work from a Stripe office if preferred. Remote employees are expected to work from home regularly, with occasional visits to the office for meetings and events.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this role in the US is €163,100 to €244,700. Additional benefits include equity, company bonuses, a 401(k) plan, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
