Julius AI is on a mission to revolutionize AI-powered code execution and data analysis. We are seeking a talented and experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our small, deeply technical team in San Francisco, CA. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and scaling the systems that power our web and mobile products.
What You’ll Do
- Build and Scale Backend Systems: Develop and maintain the backend systems that are the backbone of Julius AI's core products. Your work will enable AI capabilities for millions of knowledge workers.
- Interface Development: Create robust interfaces between backend systems and web/mobile clients, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Scalability and Load Balancing: Work on scaling and load balancing web server backends to meet rapidly changing demands.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Backend Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python or an equivalent backend programming language.
- Database Expertise: Experience with databases, pooling, and concurrency.
- Cloud Platform Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Understanding of infrastructure tools like Kubernetes and Terraform, or a willingness to learn.
- System Design Skills: Ability to design extensible systems.
- Experience: At least 2 years of engineering experience.
- Bonus Points: Experience with R programming language or having built an AI side project.
