Role Overview
As a Software Engineer Intern during the Winter 2025 term, you will join Notion's first engineering internship class. This role is crucial as millions trust Notion for a fast, reliable, and secure experience. You will work on impactful projects that drive value to both customers and engineers across various domains such as product engineering, mobile, infrastructure, and security.
Responsibilities
- Write clean, secure, tested, and documented code.
- Design and enhance the Notion platform with new capabilities as needed.
- Develop, fix, and debug software for web services, databases, applications, tools, and networks.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Previous internship experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, Go, Python, Java, Swift, Rust, or Kotlin.
Skills You'll Need
- Problem-solving: Ability to decompose tricky problems and work towards a clean solution, independently or with teammates.
- Technical proficiency: Familiarity with relational database systems like Postgres or MySQL is a plus for backend roles. For frontend roles, knowledge of CSS, JavaScript, and React is beneficial.
- Empathetic communication: Clear communication of technical decisions and thoughtful engagement with different perspectives.
- Team collaboration: Willingness to collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to team goals.
Location
This internship requires you to work out of Notion's offices in New York or San Francisco for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and a majority of the week, including a third day.
Compensation and Benefits
Notion is committed to providing highly competitive compensation and benefits. For this role, the estimated base hourly range is $55/hr for Bachelors and $59/hr for Master’s degrees, based on location and role complexity.
