About the Role
Epic Games is seeking a talented and passionate UX/UI Programmer Intern to join the Fortnite Battle Royale team. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between new gameplay systems and the player experience. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of one of the world's most popular games, Fortnite, and work with both internal and external teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and Improve UI/UX: Develop and enhance the user interface for Fortnite's gameplay HUD, map, inventory, and more.
- Collaborate with Art and Design: Work closely with the art and design teams to create and iterate on gameplay features, ensuring strong architectural and algorithmic direction.
- Optimize and Fix Bugs: Identify and resolve issues in existing systems to enhance the player experience.
- Contribute Ideas: Offer innovative ideas for all aspects of the project’s production and development.
- Write Robust Code: Develop maintainable and efficient code to support new and existing features.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong C++ Skills: Proficiency in C++ is essential for this role.
- Interest in Gameplay UI Programming: A keen interest in game engine technologies and UI programming.
- Good Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
- Self-Motivation and Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Strong skills in cross-discipline collaboration and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
Internship Details
- Flexible Start Date: The internship offers a flexible start date in 2025.
- Location: This position is based on-site in Cary, North Carolina.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
