About the Role
Epic Games is seeking a passionate Gameplay Programmer Intern to join our Fortnite Ecosystem’s Framework team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on new gameplay systems and features that enhance the experiences of our players. As an intern, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on the implementation of in-progress features.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and Implement: Gain insights into how gameplay features and systems function within Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Implement, augment, and maintain these features using C++, Blueprint, and Verse.
- Collaborate: Work closely with a globally diverse team of developers, including design, art, QA, and production, to bring new gameplay systems to life.
- Develop Skills: Enhance your software development skills and learn Verse, our new programming language for the Metaverse.
- Follow Processes: Adhere to production processes that ensure smooth development practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in Gameplay Programming: A strong desire to learn and contribute to gameplay programming and game engine technologies.
- Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
- Adaptability: Ability to respond effectively to constructive feedback and apply out-of-the-box thinking to rapidly evolving software.
Internship Details
- Start Date: Flexible start date in 2025.
- Location: On-site in Cary, North Carolina.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the posting location for the duration of the internship.
