About the Role
As a Backend Engineer specializing in Golang at SumUp, you will be part of the Payments Tribe, a team dedicated to enhancing and expanding our payments processing platform. This platform has been crucial in powering SumUp’s global operations for over a decade and is developed in Sofia by a talented group of engineers.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain back-end services within a microservices architecture.
- Participate in API design and implementation for both internal and external use.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
- Provide comprehensive documentation and ensure good test coverage.
- Collaborate with software, QA, and DevOps engineers to ensure smooth deployment and continuous integration.
- Participate in code reviews to enhance code quality and maintainability.
- Engage in technical discussions during requirements analysis and scope definition.
Who You Are
- Experienced in programming, preferably with Golang.
- Skilled in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Familiar with Docker, AWS, Kubernetes, SQL & NoSQL databases (Postgres and Kafka).
- Possess a DevOps mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Open to feedback and collaborative in nature.
