Join Figma as a Data Scientist Intern
Figma is on a mission to make design accessible to all, and we're looking for a Data Scientist Intern to join our team. As part of the Data Science team, you will work closely with product and engineering teams to uncover insights, influence decision-making, and apply a data lens to business problems critical to Figma’s growth.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Research, Design, Sales, and Marketing to turn business questions into data problems.
- Evaluate experiments to measure the impact of product changes.
- Define and surface metrics to guide decision-making.
- Build models to understand user behavior and predict growth.
Potential Projects
- Evaluate different online experimentation methodologies to improve the velocity and accuracy of A/B tests at Figma.
- Investigate user behaviors and run experiments to drive improvements on a new product offering.
- Recommend opportunities for growth and optimization of our core product through researching KPIs and/or areas of the business funnel.
What We're Looking For
- A strong baseline in statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or other quantitative fields.
- Proficiency with basic SQL.
- Experience with R, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Firm knowledge around statistical methods and models.
- A self-starting approach along with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Research experience in the natural sciences, social sciences, or behavioral sciences.
- Experience working with creative tools.

Pay and Benefits
This internship role is based in either Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, with an hourly base pay rate of $44.71 USD. Figma also offers interns a housing stipend and travel reimbursement.
