PhD Recruiter for ML Engineering at Figma

About the Role

Figma is expanding its Talent team and is seeking a dedicated PhD Recruiter to focus on ML engineering. This role is pivotal in supporting Figma's growth in machine learning and artificial intelligence sectors by spearheading new programs and strategies for early career talent.

Responsibilities

Manage the full-cycle recruiting processes for all PhD ML/Research roles, including full-time and internships.
Develop and implement the first PhD recruitment strategy in collaboration with engineering leaders, involving conference participation, research papers, university labs, and professor connections.
Serve as a subject matter expert and primary contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a top-notch experience.
Launch and oversee Figma's inaugural PhD intern and full-time programs, coordinating with a broad range of stakeholders.
Handle talent acquisition through M&A channels, providing a high-touch experience and collaborating with the Corporate Development and C-Suite teams.

Qualifications

6+ years of full-lifecycle technical recruiting experience in a fast-paced environment.
2+ years focused on AI/ML PhD roles, with a deep understanding of the PhD/research communities and the ML market.
Proven track record in setting up conference presence and forming partnerships with professors, universities, and labs.
Demonstrated success in hiring top technical talent at premier tech companies or high-growth startups.
Experience in navigating complex, high-priority recruitment and offer scenarios in collaboration with executive teams.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

Experience with talent acquisition through M&A channels.
Familiarity with Figma's products.
