About the Role:
We're seeking a Founding Applied AI Engineer to join our team and help maintain our position at the forefront of production-quality LLM application development. In this role, you'll work closely with customers to build and deploy LLM/RAG/agent applications while translating real-world feedback into framework improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers to design, build, and deploy custom LLM/RAG/agent applications
- Identify common challenges in production LLM applications and develop solutions
- Contribute to the improvement and expansion of our open-source framework based on real-world feedback
- Collaborate with the core engineering team to implement new features and optimizations
- Help develop best practices and documentation for production LLM application development
- Represent LlamaIndex in customer interactions and potentially in the wider AI community
Qualifications:
- Passionate about applied AI and enjoy building practical solutions
- Adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Excellent communicators, able to work with both technical teams and customers
- Quick learners who stay updated with the latest AI developments
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production-quality LLM, RAG, or agent applications for customers
- Strong understanding of the challenges in production LLM application development
- Ability to translate customer feedback into tangible framework improvements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Significant contributions to top open-source AI/ML projects
- Competitive programming or olympiad awards
- Completion of important AI projects
