Job Description
The Amazon Search Relevance team is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer II to join our dynamic team. Our mission is to enhance the search experience for Amazon customers by developing and deploying advanced machine learning models. You will be part of a team that is responsible for ranking relevant results when customers search for products on Amazon, operating on one of the world's largest product catalogs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Build: Develop scalable infrastructure that supports the training, evaluation, and deployment of machine learning models over billions of data points.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Create tools to monitor the performance of machine learning models at scale.
- Data Management: Develop lineage and artifact tracking infrastructure for training data, ML models, and experiments.
- ML Pipelines: Design reproducible ML pipelines that enhance the interpretability and trustworthiness of ML models.
- Best Practices: Champion engineering best practices within the team and beyond.
- Code Quality: Produce clean, high-quality code, tests, and documentation.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year to $223,600/year. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on payments, and other benefits.
