Job Description
The Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team at Amazon is seeking a passionate, talented, and inventive Applied Scientist with a strong background in deep learning to help build industry-leading technology with multimodal systems.
Key Responsibilities
As an Applied Scientist with the AGI team, you will:
- Collaborate with talented peers to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state of the art in multimodal systems.
- Directly impact our customers by developing products and services that utilize vision and language technology.
- Leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate development with multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Computer Vision.
About The Team
The AGI team is dedicated to pushing the envelope with multimodal LLMs and Gen AI in Computer Vision to provide the best possible experience for our customers.
Basic Qualifications
- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience building models for business applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience with popular deep learning frameworks, including PyTorch.
- Experience with learning multimodal LLMs and Gen AI in Computer Vision, both in the image and video domains.
- Experience with patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.

Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
