About the Role
As a Principal Software Development Engineer at QuillBot, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge web technologies and ensuring that our software architecture is robust and scalable. You will own the overall application architecture, collaborate with engineering teams to design optimal solutions for new features, and work on proof of concepts for technological innovations.
Responsibilities
- Architectural Ownership: Own the overall application architecture to ensure high scalability and resilience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the design of optimal solutions for each new feature or module developed.
- Innovation: Engage in proof of concepts for new experiments and technological inclusions, and collaborate on implementing architectural improvements.
- Benchmarking: Evaluate different technology options and make informed architectural decisions based on underlying use cases.
- Product Roadmap: Understand and contribute to the product roadmap, setting well-scoped milestones for projects to ensure timely delivery with high quality.
- Best Practices: Establish and champion best practices for development within the team.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 9 years of hands-on development experience in web technologies, with a minimum of 3 years in designing architecture.
- Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in frontend technologies such as TypeScript, DOM rendering, and React.js. Experience with high-scale production applications is essential.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong knowledge of design patterns and their applications.
- Passion for Technology: A technologist at heart, passionate about the latest developments in technology.
- Additional Skills: Experience with cloud architecture, databases, and AI/ML domain is a plus.
