Mantel Group is seeking a talented and passionate Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work with a group of smart, skilled, and passionate individuals to deliver high-quality data science and machine learning outcomes to our clients. Our projects and clients vary, providing a diverse and exciting work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology Selection: Choose the best technology for a given data science use case.
• Operational Architecture: Design the best operational architecture for machine learning applications.
• Application Development: Develop machine learning applications and apply MLOps principles to data science workflows, such as building reproducible training pipelines.
• Cloud Services: Stand up cloud services to run machine learning workloads and automate repeatable routines in ML workflows.
• Consulting Services: Provide consulting services that combine architectural vision with hands-on technical experience using the latest AI/ML tools and methods.
• Pre-sales Support: Support pre-sales activities including conversations, presentations, and writing proposals.
• Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership activities, including blog and brown-bag content, for Mantel Group and the wider AI/ML community.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Software Development Experience: Commercial software development experience across different industries and organizations.
• Machine Learning Expertise: Commercial experience in machine learning application development and production experience in at least one cloud stack.
• Consulting Experience: Experience in consulting, either with external clients or internally within an organization.
• Software Engineering Skills: Fundamental modern software engineering skills, including designing and implementing a well-structured code base and software development cycle (CI/CD, TDD, monitoring/logging).
• Programming Skills: Solid programming skills in at least one applicable language, such as Python.
• Cloud Engineering Skills: Ability to architect, use, and deploy cloud services in at least one cloud stack.
• Machine Learning Concepts: Understanding of key machine learning and data science concepts across different areas.
• MLOps Knowledge: Good grasp of concepts in the machine learning development cycle & MLOps, such as model development, model deployment, data versioning, etc.
• Project Delivery: Evidence of ML project delivery or self-learning that can be demonstrated.
• ML Technologies Exposure: Exposure to one or more ML technologies and/or frameworks such as Amazon Sagemaker, Google AI Platform, Databricks/mlflow, AI API Services, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, etc., with demonstrable production experience.
