Job Summary
Join Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source solutions, as a Senior Engineering Manager in our Machine Learning department. This role is pivotal in scaling the deployment, tuning, and monitoring of Foundation Models and large language models, particularly focusing on OpenShift AI serving.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and inspire a globally distributed team of individual contributors. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. Mentor and nurture team members in their career development and professional growth.
- Community Engagement: Engage with the AI and machine learning open source communities, including KServe, TrustyAI, Kubeflow, HuggingFace, vLLM, and others.
- Strategic Planning: Work with product management and engineering teams to develop technology roadmaps and schedules. Communicate these schedules externally and coordinate with cross-functional teams on documentation, product management, and quality assurance.
- Agile Development: Direct the team in agile development practices, working closely with technical leads and scrum leads.
- Recruitment and Team Building: Recruit and build a world-class engineering team.
What You Will Bring
- Experience: At least 5 years of significant hands-on software development and system design experience, with 2+ years managing software engineering teams.
- Skills: Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and tools such as PyTorch and HuggingFace. Excellent programming skills in languages like Python or Go. Experience with Kubernetes and developing scalable applications.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading machine learning engineering teams with a track record of successful project delivery.
