About the Role
Amazon's Shopping Core Foundations Science team is seeking a passionate, talented, and inventive Senior Data Scientist to help build industry-leading automated evaluation systems for LLM-based CXs and conversational technologies. This role involves working with machine learning, Large Language Models (LLM), and other generative technologies in a fast-paced environment surrounded by smart and customer-obsessed product, engineering, and science leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical efforts in machine learning within the team and across other teams.
- Perform hands-on analysis and modeling with large data sets to develop insights that increase customer engagement and monetization.
- Drive end-to-end machine learning projects that involve high degrees of ambiguity, scale, and complexity.
- Build, experiment, optimize, and deploy machine learning models into production.
- Work closely with product managers and engineers to assist in productionizing models.
- Run experiments, gather data, and perform statistical analysis.
- Recruit scientists to the team and provide mentorship.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL) and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
- 4+ years of data scientist experience.
- Experience with statistical models, e.g., multinomial logistic regression.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing data pipelines.
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team.
