Taboola, the world’s largest content recommendation platform, is seeking a talented Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team in Budapest. This role is pivotal in developing and enhancing Taboola’s flagship recommendations product, which is central to our mission of powering recommendations for the open web.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and Enhance Ad Formats: Work on Taboola’s recommendations ad formats and user experience, which are crucial to our products that connect end-users, publishers, and advertisers.
• Innovate and Maintain: Be responsible for creating, testing, deploying, monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining a variety of new and innovative ad formats that reach billions of users and are utilized by thousands of advertisers.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Make professional decisions based on big data and performance metrics of billions of users, with a focus on business and page performance KPIs.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Product, Data, and UX teams to iterate on the design and implementation of our product.
• Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest browser features, Web APIs, and related technologies such as Web Components, Lighthouse & Google Core Web Vitals, CDNs, and A/B Testing at scale.

Our Tech Stack

• Languages and Tools: JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Karma, Jasmine, Gulp, Selenium & Playwright, NPM, Babel, Git, Grafana, BigQuery, MySQL.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of programming experience in web development.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of vanilla JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. TypeScript knowledge is an advantage.
• Cross-Browser Support: Experience with cross-browser and multi-device support, including responsiveness and feature support.
• Web Fundamentals: Basic understanding of web fundamentals such as HTTP methods & headers, CDN & DNS, and how HTTP servers work.
• Team Player: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be an independent learner.
• Education: BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Google AMP, Lighthouse, ReactJS, Gulp/Rollup/Webpack, NPM, Java, Maven, Go Lang, Docker, BigQuery, MySQL, Kusto, Grafana.
• Experience with Agile, Lean Startup, CI/CD, DevOps, TDD, Extreme Programming, SCRUM.
• Interest in UI design, artificial intelligence, and recommendation systems.
