Position Overview

The Senior iOS Developer is a key role responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of complex iOS applications. This position requires a deep understanding of both Objective-C and Swift programming languages, along with a strong foundation in mobile application architecture and best practices. The ideal candidate is proficient in developing iOS apps, mentoring junior developers, and driving technical innovation within the team. A significant portion of the role will focus on transitioning existing Objective-C codebases to Swift and supporting the modernization of legacy applications. Additionally, this position will explore the feasibility of converting iOS applications to cross-platform solutions, such as React Native or Flutter, to align with business needs and technology strategy.

Responsibilities

1. iOS Application Development and Maintenance:

   • Design, build, and maintain advanced applications for the iOS platform using Objective-C and Swift.
   • Implement new features and improve the performance of existing applications.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and updates.

2. NoSQL Database Integration:

   • Design and implement efficient MongoDB database solutions to support mobile app features and data synchronization.
   • Ensure optimal data storage and retrieval strategies to handle high volumes of data efficiently in the mobile app.
   • Collaborate with backend teams to align database models with application requirements and enhance overall data flow architecture.

3. Cross-Platform Considerations:

   • Investigate the potential for converting existing iOS applications to cross-platform solutions like React Native or Flutter.
   • Evaluate different approaches and technologies to ensure smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.

4. Leadership and Mentorship:

   • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the iOS development team.
   • Conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, and drive continuous improvement within the team.
   • Mentor junior and mid-level developers to enhance their skills and capabilities.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

   • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and technical requirements.
   • Provide regular updates on project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional iOS development experience.
• Proven track record of developing and releasing iOS applications using Objective-C and Swift.
• Experience leading technical teams and providing mentorship.
• Demonstrated experience with code modernization, particularly transitioning from Objective-C to Swift.
• Experience with cross-platform solutions such as React Native or Flutter.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and cloud-based services.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and mobile testing strategies.
