Overview

We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer, Design Technologist to join our team and help build the next generation of our design system's components and infrastructure.
About the Role
As a Senior iOS Engineer, Design Technologist, you will play a central role in developing our next version of Instacart Design System’s iOS components. You will provide simple solutions that help engineers create great experiences at high velocity. You will collaborate with your engineering peers to design elegant and consistent component APIs and focus on the details of developer experience to make using the Instacart Design System absolutely frictionless. You will engage with designers daily to co-create the best components and patterns possible and support Instacart's iOS engineering team with best-in-class documentation and support.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in iOS app UI development
- Practical knowledge and experience using SwiftUI and UIKit
- Effective in developing native mobile applications with accessibility in mind
- Strong communication and written skills
- Solid understanding of fundamental design principles and a high attention to detail in UI implementation
- An exceptionally collaborative approach towards working with design and engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in writing developer-oriented documentation
- Experience working directly on a design system team is a huge plus
Compensation and Benefits
Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote, and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants.
For US-based candidates, the base pay ranges for a successful candidate are listed below:
- CA, NY, CT, NJ: $192,000—$213,000 USD
- WA: $184,000—$204,000 USD
- OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $176,000—$196,000 USD
- All other states: $159,000—$177,000 USD
