About The Role
Join Skydio as a Senior Software Engineer focused on backend development, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing our drone technology. You will be responsible for building out critical cloud features and infrastructure to support real-time data and video from fleets of drones. This role involves designing and implementing web backends, APIs, and server-side applications for fleet management, photo and video asset management, 3D reconstruction, and more.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to design and deliver customer-facing product features.
- Design and implement secure, efficient, observable, scalable, and robust software solutions.
- Contribute to the 24/7 availability of Skydio's platforms by participating in our rotating on-call schedule.
What Would Make You a Good Fit
- Passion for building great products and working on systems involving hardware and software.
- Demonstrated ability to drive a concept through the software lifecycle: architecture, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Experience in building and delivering scalable and secure cloud-based systems.
- Proficiency in modern cloud technologies, including Python, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and TypeScript.
- Comfortable navigating and delivering within a complex codebase.
Work Location
This role is hybrid, requiring three days a week in-office at our San Mateo, California location. We are flexible on the days but expect all employees to commute or relocate closer to the office. Relocation packages are available to assist with this move.
Compensation and Benefits
- The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $258,000.
- In addition to the base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible for a variety of incentives and stipends.
