Job Overview
Join Qualcomm AI Research as a Senior System Engineer specializing in Deep Learning and Generative AI. You will be part of a high-caliber team of engineers building advanced machine learning technology and best-in-class solutions. This role involves developing user-friendly model optimization tools, such as Qualcomm Innovation Center’s AI Model Efficiency Toolkit, to enable state-of-the-art networks to run on devices with limited power, memory, and computation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct algorithms research and development in the area of Generative AI, LVM, LLM, and multi-modality.
- Develop efficient inference algorithms, including batching, KV caching, efficient attentions, long context, and speculative decoding.
- Research and develop advanced quantization algorithms for complex generative models.
- Work on model compression, both lossy and lossless, and structural and neural search.
- Apply optimization-based learning and learning-based optimization techniques.
- Prototype generative AI systems and apply solutions toward system innovations for model efficiency advancement on devices and in the cloud.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional environment spanning hardware, software, and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- OR Master's degree in a related field and 1+ year of relevant work experience.
- OR PhD in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience with Machine Learning algorithms or systems engineering.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $133,000 - $200,000 per year
- Additional Compensation: Competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants.
