About the Role
Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Back-End Engineering team in Bangkok. This role is pivotal in building scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that host our core business logic. You will work on mission-critical systems that serve millions of users daily, using cutting-edge technologies to make a significant impact on our business and the travel industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop performance-critical applications in a production environment using modern programming languages such as Scala, Java, Kotlin, C#, or Go.
- Design and implement advanced CI/CD pipelines and robust testing strategies to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and high code quality.
- Make architectural decisions, set technical vision, and direct significant company-wide projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Continuously improve your knowledge and skills in software development.
What You’ll Need
- 8+ years of experience in software development, particularly in back-end systems.
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or other).
- Ability to lead technical projects and set the standard and direction for the team.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Passion for software development and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NoSQL databases and queueing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Familiarity with the Play framework.
