About the Role

Join Agoda as a Lead Software Engineer – Back End in the FinTech department, based in Bangkok. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge financial technology solutions, driving efficiencies and exploring new market opportunities. You will be responsible for developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines and storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the entire lifecycle of products, from business requirements to technology selection, coding standards, agile development, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
Platform and Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines across fintech.
System Performance Optimization: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
Mentorship and Collaboration: Write great code and mentor team members, fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive product and technology goals.
Leadership and Innovation: Inspire innovation and drive vision into reality, playing a pivotal role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.

What You’ll Need

Experience: 10+ years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
Big Data Expertise: Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and real-time processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
Data Architecture: Advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
Agile Methodologies: Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods.
Hands-on experience with technologies like Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Familiarity with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes.
Experience in leading projects, initiatives, and/or teams.
