About the Role
Join Agoda as a Staff Software Engineer in our rapidly expanding FinTech team. Based in Bangkok, with relocation provided, you will be at the forefront of developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines. Your work will support complex data collection, processing, and analysis, optimizing our financial technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Engage in all stages from business requirements, technology selection, coding standards, agile development, testing, to CI/CD and monitoring.
- Platform and Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines across FinTech.
- System Performance Optimization: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
- Mentorship and Collaboration: Write great code and mentor others, fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive product and technology goals.
- Leadership and Innovation: Inspire innovation and drive vision into reality, playing a pivotal role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.
What You’ll Need
- Experience: 8+ years with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
- Big Data Technologies: Experience with Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks like Apache Spark, and advanced SQL and data architecture knowledge.
- Problem Solving and Strategic Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
- Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods.
- Hands-on experience with Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes.
- Proven track record in leading projects, initiatives, and teams.
