About the Role
Join Agoda as a Senior Software Engineer – Back End (FinTech) based in Bangkok. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in one of the fastest-growing areas within Agoda, focusing on financial technology solutions. You will be part of a dynamic team that collaborates closely with finance business teams and FinTech product owners to drive efficiencies and explore new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Engage in all stages of product development, from gathering business requirements to technology selection, coding standards, agile development, testing, and continuous integration/delivery.
- Platform and Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and scalable data pipelines that support complex data collection, processing, and analysis.
- System Performance Optimization: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
- Mentorship and Collaboration: Write high-quality code and mentor team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product and technology goals.
- Leadership and Innovation: Inspire innovation and drive vision into reality by fostering a culture of experimentation and ownership.
What You’ll Need
- Experience: 5+ years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#.
- Technical Skills: Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark), and advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
- Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Operational Excellence: Deep understanding of metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
- Domain knowledge in financial reconciliation, reporting, tax, or payout methods.
- Hands-on experience with technologies like Spark, ETLs, and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab and Kubernetes.
- Proven track record in leading projects and teams.
