Job Overview
Agoda is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer – Front End to join our dynamic team in Bangkok, Thailand. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and optimizing user interfaces for our web applications. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Product Design, and Engineering teams to construct and deliver high-quality web products.
- Code Quality: Lead by example in writing quality code that meets requirements and adheres to our architectural and front-end coding standards.
- Performance Optimization: Contribute to building a culture that optimizes applications using best practices for performance.
- Security and Development: Propose necessary upgrades and updates to keep up with modern security and development best practices.
- Component Libraries: Contribute to our shared component libraries and build modular and reusable components and libraries.
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship for junior team members and share knowledge with the broader team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience: At least 8 years of extensive background in front-end development, particularly with client-side frameworks on large-scale applications. Experience with React is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong core front-end skill set in JavaScript and the TypeScript ecosystem.
- Architecture Skills: Strong architecture skills and the ability to drive decision-making in the team.
- Product Sense: Strong product sense and a passion for client-side performance optimization.
- Collaboration: Love collaborating via code reviews and architecture discussions and motivated to improve teammates’ productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership: Experience leading teams and projects to solve significant, complex problems.
- Industry Experience: Experience working on an app or internet company that is at scale.
- Data-Driven: Experience working in a data-driven company and analyzing big data.
- Modern Tools: Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript libraries and tooling (e.g., VueJS, AngularJS).
