Cleric is an AI-powered agent designed to manage and resolve issues in production environments autonomously. It uses an LLM-based reasoning engine to react to, interpret, and implement solutions to production issues, even those it's encountering for the first time.

We are building a future where engineers can concentrate on software development while Cleric takes care of the production environment. Our mission is to develop autonomous software that can manage, repair, and optimize itself—the holy grail.

About The Role

We’re hiring an AI Engineering Intern to help agentify our team and to improve the performance of our AI agent, Cleric.

In this role, you will help to augment our team with agent-based frameworks to increase our ability to make faster and better decisions. Additionally, you will help us build a product that is robust, reliable, and always improving.

You will integrate the latest AI techniques to build a product that can respond quickly to incidents, reason with high reliability, provide accurate resolutions, and learn from its experiences.

Ideally, These Qualities Describe You

• You have a solid foundation in software engineering and are comfortable with Python, TypeScript, and Go.
• You love building with generative AI and have a track record of shipping projects.
• You may have a background in ML, or maybe you’re self-taught.
• You understand how to build an evaluation system for agent-based systems, from modeling the problem, collecting evaluation data, to optimizing the agent.
• You know how to leverage the latest tools in building generative AI products, including evaluation, retrieval, vector search, knowledge graphs, and evaluations.
• You have a strong grasp of prompt engineering and can effectively interact with language models to elicit desired responses or behaviors.
• You have experience in integrating, tuning, or training foundation models.

• Work closely with the product team to enhance the performance and accuracy of our LLM-based reasoning engine, memory module, evaluation stack, and simulation environment.
• Apply the latest AI developments to both our team and our product, ensuring that Cleric remains a best-in-class SRE teammate.
• Help us iterate towards product-market fit in an early-stage, open-ended environment.
• Embody our end users (engineers with operational responsibilities), immersing yourself in their needs, pains, and aspirations.

Interview Process

1. First contact: A quick chat with one of the founders.
2. Take-home assignment: You’ll work on a small take-home project that leverages generative AI.
3. System design session: We will work through a system design problem with you, related to the work you do daily.
