Verkada, a leading cloud-based B2B physical security platform company, is seeking an Android Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing startups in Silicon Valley and gain hands-on experience in Android development.
About the Role
As an Android Engineering Intern, you will be part of the Android Engineering team, collaborating cross-functionally to support the entire Android application lifecycle. This includes working on both existing and new applications that enable our best-in-class security systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Android Application Lifecycle: Engage in the concept, design, test, and release phases of Android applications in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with various teams to design and implement new features.
- Iterative Development: Participate in iterative sprints to design, develop, and test solutions.
- Automation and Testing: Build automation and tests to streamline the development process.
Requirements
- Location: Ability to work on-site at Verkada HQ in San Mateo, CA during Summer 2025.
- Education: Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a graduation date as late as June 2025.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Kotlin and Android SDK, with experience in writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
- UI Development: Solid experience with XML or Jetpack Compose and unit testing skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and ability to work well alongside engineers of all levels.
Compensation
- Hourly Pay: $55 - $65 USD
