Backend Engineer with Machine Learning Focus

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer with a focus on machine learning to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and building robust, scalable backend systems to support our AI solutions. You will collaborate closely with our AI Platform team, which focuses on developing next-generation multi-agent applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers and scientists to understand backend requirements.
• Architect, develop, and maintain backend systems that support AI-driven applications and services.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices for internal and external use.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and security of backend infrastructure in cloud environments.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and improve existing backend applications and processes.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to support AI-driven applications.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices.
• Write pipelines to integrate new data sources.
• Monitor backend systems and address issues related to system performance, reliability, and security.
• Stay informed about new technologies and trends in backend development, cloud services, and AI tools.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. A graduate degree is preferred.
• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in backend development with a track record of building and maintaining complex, scalable systems.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Expertise in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS with some knowledge of Azure).
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, stream processing, and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices, monitoring, and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Leadership qualities, with experience mentoring junior developers or leading small teams.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for learning new technologies and improving systems.
