Backend Engineer with Machine Learning Focus (Early Career)

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Early-Career Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team at Accrete AI. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in backend technologies who is eager to apply their skills in a dynamic, AI-focused environment. As a Backend Engineer, you will work on backend solutions in collaboration with our AI Platform team, which is a research-engineering focused team oriented around building next-generation multi-agent applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with researchers and scientists to understand backend requirements.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable backend systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to support AI-driven applications.
• Develop RESTful APIs and services for internal and external consumption.
• Optimize application performance, ensuring speed, security, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing backend systems as necessary.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous integration processes.
• Contribute to the documentation of backend systems and processes.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends in backend development, cloud services, and AI technologies.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. A graduate degree is preferred.
• Experience: 1-2 years of professional or internship experience in backend development, with hands-on knowledge of server-side technologies.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS with some knowledge of Azure).
• Familiarity working with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
