Join Our Team as a Data Engineer

Messari is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our dynamic data engineering team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing data models on top of raw blockchain data, building dashboards and applications to visualize the data, and transforming them into actionable insights for our research team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with our research and product teams to translate their needs into data products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Build Data Models: Develop abstraction tables for blockchain data to facilitate data analysis and visualization.
• SQL Pipeline Development: Create SQL pipelines to transform and aggregate low-level blockchain data into high-level metrics.
• Data Visualization: Build data dashboards and applications to present data insights effectively.
• Statistical Analysis: Use statistical models to derive insights from blockchain data.
• Collaboration: Work with crypto researchers to understand their analytics needs and deliver solutions.

Who You Are

• Crypto Enthusiast: You live and breathe crypto, with a deep understanding of blockchain and protocol mechanisms, including DeFi, AMM, and yield farming.
• Experienced Professional: You have 3+ years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or analytics engineer.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL and Python, with a strong understanding of modern data tools and best practices.
• Collaborative Communicator: Highly collaborative with strong communication skills, especially with non-technical coworkers.
• Problem Solver: An investigative mindset with a strong desire to learn and tackle challenges.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with engineering tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Knowledge of data management and orchestration tools like dbt, Airflow, or Dagster.
• Data science experience, including forecasting, simulation, and predictive modeling.

Projects You Could Work On

• Build abstraction tables for all concentrated liquidity protocols.
• Analyze liquidity behaviors on decentralized exchanges.
• Design and build data quality frameworks to ensure high-quality data.
