The Role
The Senior Data Engineer at Modern Health will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with big data technologies, cloud platforms, and a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics.
- Architect and implement data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and databases.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Optimize and tune data systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing, validation, and monitoring.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging data technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their potential impact on our data infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.

Who You Are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering in a modern tech stack.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong experience with big data technologies.
- Expertise in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles.
- Experience with IaaS technologies (e.g. terraform).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of machine learning and data science workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer).
