Job Overview
Join Blip as a Senior Data Platform Engineer and be a part of our dynamic Data & Analytics department undergoing significant restructuring. We are in the process of organizing and shaping our Data Platform, which has been built in fragments and at a pace that needs acceleration to align with our mission. You will work on all aspects of our systems, from backend data storage services to analytics and logging.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and execute automated tests with some manual testing if automation is not possible.
- Build and manage the Big Data environment through the data platform, enabling easier operation by other data roles.
- Ensure data quality and compliance within the platform.
- Contribute to a culture of technical collaboration and scalable, resilient systems.
- Integrate new pipelines into the Lake through the data platform, ensuring design consistency.
Requirements
- Experience with databases such as SQL, Snowflake, PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency in Python and Spark, and strong knowledge in object-oriented and functional methodologies.
- Experience in building REST services and practical experience with data pipeline tools in cloud environments like Airflow.
- Strong understanding of various data formats (CSV, XML, JSON).
- Experience with source control systems like Git and CI/CD practices.
- Experience in developing cloud data platforms, preferably Azure.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes, Hadoop, or Docker is a plus.
