Reputation is seeking a motivated and talented Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team in San Ramon, California. As a leader in Online Reputation Management, we are dedicated to deriving actionable insights and tangible business results from vast amounts of customer feedback data. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data science and business strategy, contributing to the development of cutting-edge data products.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Under the guidance of a data scientist, lead a project from start to finish, including understanding business needs, problem formulation, modeling, and prototyping.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, engineering, operations, marketing, and sales teams to identify and unlock new growth opportunities.
Algorithm Development: Apply machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques to build new product features or enhance existing ones.
Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support the data science team.

Qualifications

Education: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field. A graduate degree or industry experience is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages, and experience with machine learning packages. Proficiency in SQL and data visualization is a plus.
Experience: Strong background in machine learning, stochastic modeling, and predictive analytics. Experience with NLP/text analytics and cluster computing frameworks like Apache Spark is a plus.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex models to engineers, PMs, executives, and clients.
Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently while also being a team player who values collaboration.
