Job Description
Overview
The Data Scientist II at TD Bank is a pivotal role within the Advanced Analytics team, focusing on developing and applying advanced statistical and AI/ML techniques to solve business problems. This position involves gathering, analyzing, and modeling a wide range of data, applying mathematical models and tools, and utilizing software engineering best practices to develop and implement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data using a wide range of data science techniques, including data wrangling, profiling, and visualization.
- Model Development: Develop robust and reliable solutions leveraging advanced techniques such as machine learning, AI, NLP, and geospatial analytics.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders to move projects through all phases of the model lifecycle, from ideation to implementation and ongoing monitoring.
- Communication: Effectively communicate model design and results to senior leaders and business partners, facilitating key strategic discussions.
- Innovation and Improvement: Maintain full professional knowledge of techniques and developments in the field of Machine Learning and AI, including Generative AI, and share knowledge with peers and senior management.
Qualifications
- Education: Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or relevant fields.
- Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in data science, with a strong understanding of ML/AI algorithms and techniques.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PySpark, PyTorch, and SQL. Familiarity with version control software such as Git, Bitbucket, or Github.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and draw conclusions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
